Come ogni estate, Luca Rollin arriva in Val d'Aosta per trascorrere le vacanze nella casa di famiglia. Pietro e Massimo sono due bambini privilegiati. La loro è una famiglia facoltosa e hanno tutto quello che si può desiderare: una villa con piscina, un campo da tennis privato, i primi videogiochi. Un'infanzia felice, sospesa in un sogno borghese. Finché, un giorno d'autunno del 1976, il mondo crolla. La polizia irrompe in casa e il padre viene arrestato.
